What do we provide?

Nursey Room 0-2 Years

Our Nursery group offers safe indoor and outdoor play spaces, tailored to meet the needs of our youngest children.

With a 1:4 educator-to-child ratio we focus on building secure attachments. Babies are gently introduced to social play when developmentally ready.

Our dedicated cot room allows for restful sleep and we can support unique daily routines for each child.

With feeds, we will completely support a baby’s milk feeding schedule and will help families in weaning and introducing solids at appropriate milestones

Toddler Group – 2- 3Years

Our Toddler group is lively and inclusive, and the space is filled with opportunities for creativity, discovery and connection.

With a 1:5 educator-to-child ratio, children are supported in building friendships, expressing themselves and growing in independence.

We celebrate each child’s culture and individuality, and ensure every child feels seen, supported and an important part of the group.

Daily activities can include music, practising fundamental movement skills, and exposure to early literacy, numeracy and science

Preschool Program

Our Preschool Program is part of our Long Day Care program, giving children the opportunity to learn, grow and become confident in a fun, play-based environment while preparing for school.

Our Preschool room is a vibrant, welcoming space designed to spark creativity, collaboration and curiosity about the world around them.

We have a 1:10 educator-to-child ratio and, at this stage, we pay particular attention to preparing children for their transition to school.

Preschoolers have the opportunity to engage in a variety of daily discussions and hands-on activities such as learning to recognise and write their names, listening to stories, counting, singing interactive songs, experimenting, problem-solving and participating in projects like cooking and gardening

We also work closely with local primary schools and the community to support a smooth transition to kindergarten. School visits and transition experiences help children become familiar with their new environment, making the move to school exciting and positive.

Located directly beside the school, children walk safely between the school and Little Emu Academy through the school grounds via a secure access gate. There are no roads to cross, buses to catch or public transport involved, providing families with a safe and convenient transition between school and our service.

Before and after school, as well as during school holidays, children enjoy a fun, welcoming environment where they can relax, make friends, explore their interests and participate in a variety of engaging activities while building confidence and independence.

Our Learning Curriculum

Interest-Based Learning

At Little Emu Academy, we believe children learn best through play, curiosity and exploration. Our educational program is guided by each child’s interests, helping them build confidence, independence and a lifelong love of learning.

Drawing on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), our approach places children’s cultures, voices and lived experiences at the heart of their learning journey

Every day, children enjoy engaging experiences that support early literacy and numeracy, creativity, problem-solving, social skills and physical development in a fun, safe and nurturing environment.

Our experienced educators balance child-led learning with intentional teaching to ensure every child feels supported, challenged and inspired.
